Faculty of Architecture of Genova, Alessandra Parodi for Cersaie 2010

Apple Tile - I chose a simple way of conveying Eden or at least the idea that we generally have of Eden. The classic symbols and iconographies used to identify the Garden of Eden are of course Adam and Eve, the Snake and the Apple. The one that interested me the most was the apple. I placed a simple drawing of a stalk with a leaf on top of a green mosaic tile so that the theme would be easily recognisable and understood without the need for words.

Alessandra Parodi was born in Genoa, Italy on 09/11/1986.
After obtaining her high school diploma in 2004 and attending the British School of Genoa, in 2009 she graduated in Industrial Design with a thesis entitled “mini-shop, the problems of discontinuity in multi-brand commercial structures”.
Following a short time spent studying at the Callan School of English in London, she is currently enrolled in the second year of the postgraduate course in Product and Event Design at the Architecture Faculty of Genoa University.
